According to Apple rumor site, 9-to-5 Mac, that’s exactly what you can expect tonight with Apple retail stores to follow shortly thereafter. If you’re one of those unfortunate souls stuck on a GSM carrier that doesn’t carry the iPhone (looking at you T-Mobile), you can get your credit cards ready.
Of course the latest and greatest from Apple will come at a steep upfront cost – a 16GB iPhone 5 is expected to set you back around $649 and topping out at $849 for a 64GB model. 9-to-5 is also reporting that the factory unlocked units are already making their way to Apple’s retail stores though there is still no word on when they will officially go on sale at their brick-and-mortar outlets.
Now, if only Apple would just start accepting payments of blood and/or organs we’d be all set.
UPDATE: 9-to-5 was right on the money! I was greeted with the following this morning:
I guess it’s easier to ask for forgiveness than permission (someone hide my credit card please).
